Nanocollege Plans "NANOvember" Fete

ALBANY -- The University at Albany's College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering is gearing up for its annual "Nanovember" celebration and is planning several educational initiatives for the month-long event.

Nanovember, a play on nanotechnology and November, kicks off on Nov. 1 with the first of four lectures that will be held every Monday at the $6.5 billion Albany NanoTech complex on Fuller Road in Albany.

And on Nov. 6, the NanoCollege will host its Community Day Open House from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the NanoTech complex.

Some new events are planned, including one called Nano at the Y on Nov. 13 in which NanoCollege faculty will visit seven Capital District YMCA branches to demonstrate their nanotechnology research.

And on Nov. 18, the NanoCollege will host NanoCSI, a program that shows how nanotechnology can be used in crime research.

Another new event this year is called Nanotechnology and the Video Game Revolution that will be held Nov. 20 and will feature interactive video game terminals.
