New Energy New York and the Energy & Environmental Technology Applications Center (E2TAC) at the College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering (CNSE) will host the Fourth Annual New Energy Symposium July 8-9, 2009.  Last year's event attracted over 400 prominent players in the energy field from the academia, government, and industry sectors.  This year's event will be held at the New York Academy of Science's premier office space at the World Trade Center in New York City, NY.

The Symposium will focus on energy storage, solar cells, and energy efficiency.  A panel, organized by the New York Academy of Science, will discuss Solar Energy in the Urban Environment.  Tracks include:

  • Energy Storage: Key to Unlocking Renewables' Promise
  • Energy Efficiency: Sunny Outlook for Green Design?
  • Spotlight on Solar

The 2009 NES will again feature the Clean Energy Investment Presentations, where competitively selected entrepreneurs pitch their business plan to a panel of investors and financial industry experts.  This format is based on the National Renewable Energy Laboratory's (NREL) annual Industry Growth Forum; a successful model at the national level.  The panel will provide feedback to all participants and choose the top three companies.  The extent of this impact is far-reaching: entrepreneurs are able to refine their business plans with real-world advice, and the investment community gets a first hand look at what is developing in the energy technology industry.

Location: 7 World Trade Center, 40th Floor
