The first Fuel Cell Symposium at Cornell, which will take place at Statler Hall, Cornell University, Ithaca, NY on May 22-23, 2007. Full details are available on the web at: http://www.fuelcells.ccmr.cornell.edu/symposium

The purpose of this symposium is to highlight the groundbreaking research on new materials for the next generation of fuel cells underway here at the Cornell Fuel Cell Institute (CFCI), and among our industrial and academic partners. We anticipate outstanding presentations from Cornell faculty, graduate students, and invited industrial and academic speakers; plus detailed poster presentations from CFCI's graduate student and postdoctoral researchers.

The symposium is divided into three parts. Session One will focus on complementary efforts between CFCI and our partner industrial labs toward developing new electrocatalysts for fuel cells. Session Two will broaden the scope beyond catalyst materials, and survey development of novel polymer electrolyte membrane materials and materials for improved electrode architecture. Also in this session, we'll take a quick tour of activities at companies across the fuel cell sector, from Motorola Labs to Laminare Inc., a startup here in Ithaca. Session Three will allow us to explore the work in the solid oxide fuel cell arena. Talks sharing work underway at Alfred University and at industry partner sites are planned.

The Fuel Cell Symposium is modeled after CCMR's successful POP Symposium (in its 18th year!). We will strive not only to present novel fuel cell research at Cornell and beyond, but also to offer excellent opportunities to network with industry and academic leaders in this field. The Poster Session on Tuesday evening, plus the luncheon on Wednesday are two examples of these opportunities. We encourage you to take advantage of our early registration option which will save you $50.

Hurry, EXPIRES FRIDAY April 27, 2007.

Please note that the Statler Hotel Reservation is at a discounted rate until May 1, 2007.
